Thursday, June 23, 2005 + 2005 youth camp + Youth camp at COGS was killer fun. Considering it was a minor factor in my decision to quit me job.... it had jolly well be fun. Here are some key highlights not soon to be forgotten. Day 1: Sentosa's Palawhateva Beach... games lineup included ice breakers,telematch, captains ball, beach soccer. Easy formula-- bunch of hyperactive teens + large body of water nearby = No one's staying dry whether they wanna or not. 1st victims: Ben spears Wei Xuan into the sea while he was fillin a bucket to drench Ben. Death without dishonour man, both soaked. 2nd: Beatrice tries to push me in... so i throw her in...hehehe... 3rd: Beatrice recruits the a posse of girls to throw me in... they pushed me at an amazing 3cm per minute... so i taunted them, smooth move.. they dragged me in by the feet.. i left a noticably long trail in the sand where my fingers grasped in futility. 4th victims: they prompty turned on each other. Vicious creatures. 5th: Joshua had the nerve to utter the words: "im hot". That translates to: "Come get me, losers!" Night in the church, truth or dare till 1.30 am... Joshua n Isabel always kena... must be a serious case of karma... i wonder who they murdered/raped. Day 2: Church field was waterlogged from rain the night before... and we had to have water bomb fights there... Wei Xuan donned a water resistant trashbag outfit... so we taupok'ed the wise-ass into the mud. And prompty turned on each other (what a loving church we have). Only Wei Qiang went in with a willing diginfied manner when he knew his fate was sealed. The weight of my tee tripled due to mud. Guess there's a first time for everything. Movie night: I finally got to watch the Incredibles, pretty darn impressive. Nightgames (police vs terrorists) all through the neighbourhood... one wonders how no real police showed up to stop the fracas. Day 3: Mc Donald's breakfast. My turn to play guitar, lucky i decided against staying up the night before, or i would have passed out during worship/quiet time. I heard some stayed up till 6 or 7 the next day playin continue the story and singing medleys. Insane. Saw many new faces taking up leadership positions this camp. Phoebe + Janice (Camp ICs), Wei Xuan + Clement (Games ICs), Joshua + Alvin (Worship Leaders). Whoa... Im feelin old, they gave me an overseeing role and Security IC.
