+ Christmas Eve with abrasions and cheese +
perhaps u can call it a late post, but when i wrote it, i was pissed... deeply pissed. So pissed that i didn't wanna post it, cos it seemed so happy n fake. Mainly because i was gg thru a rough time and there was nothing and no one to blame. Thats life, shit happens, spontenously. I had been pissed since the end of Nov till Dec 31. The worst thing i could have done was to take it out on every one else, but the hardest part was over once i cleared the Anglican Youth Camp. Kept a smile the whole time, maybe only Melvin knew i was bothered by certain things outside. What these things were im not really interested to discuss with the whole world, but between friends we can still talk about em... So lookin back 2 months later, i believe God was keepin me busy to help me recover myself. I typed the entry with "busy-ness" as my main theme, but i was still not finished being pissed. So i just saved the damn thing n left it. Daily question: Where's my head at? Guess i could post this now that i've found it. _______________________________________________________________________ This was without question, the busiest december i have ever had. 1-3 Dec: Preprations for my birthday BBQ, William introduces me to network marketing, i politely tell him my holidays are strictly for my enjoyment. (workload status: light) 4 Dec: Church inda morn. After lunch i buy enuf food n drink to feed an army, then head down to the east coast chalet to get the BBQ going. Night signalled the reunion with me long lost buddies from primary n secondary school, whilst fraternising with newer friends from NUS. Surprisingly, im most close to my JC buddies, and most of them couldn't make it. Being born in Dec is kinda bummer cos everyone's packin off to overseas adventures. (workload status: moderately xiong) 5-8 Dec: wake up in a daze, check outta chalet, pack up new luggage for "Strangers No More" Anglican Youth Camp. Head down to St Andrews Village, my new residence for the next few days. At first i thought i'll just be there to be in charge of icebreakers, then they dropped a bomb last week sayin we'll be group leaders too. Cool, means i'll try not to mention "hangover" for 1 entire day. My efforts at emceeing over the icebreakers whilst fighting a headache pays off, im a hit with the pastors and teenagers at the same time! Yup, im still not feelin 21. I thought this camp would be full of Cheenak people who speak the Queen's English with the eloquence of headless chickens, and i was already preparing to kill Melvin for talkin me into it. But as fate would have it, i got a pretty happening group, and it was a pretty happening camp. As my usual method for lightening the mood is to make witty (or lame) verbal abuse, it was only natural that a certain loud KC girl named Gwen would bear the brunt of my aggression for the next 4 days. (Sorry Gwen!) (workload status: heavy) 9 Dec: Camp was over yesterday, yet im out shoppin with my camp group at Bugis. Semi-official group name: Crabbies Fall asleep in a cafe with Wei Xin, before ordering anything. HAHAHA! i take neo-prints for the first time in my life. And it had to be wif 9 other peeps vying for space in one machine. (Experience: Traumatic) 10 Dec: Fever. I miss Eugene's wedding dinner (which frens say got quite eventful). Looks like me body is already tellin me to slow things down a notch. 11 Dec: Church, rest onda sabbath. Thank God. 12 Dec: Rehearsal for Christmas musical. 13 Dec: East coast cycling with the Crabbies. 2 of our roller-bladers were scratched silly (note to all beginners: pls wear guards). YEC meeting with Vicar. 14 Dec: Rehearsal. Supper at Holland V. 15 Dec: Distribute flyers for CCIS. Played pool at Monstercue. 16 Dec: Full dress rehearsal. 17 Dec: Celebrated my Mom's b'day in the afternoon. Then...Christmas Musical! I played 4 roles! With only 1 costume! I had to wear it differently for each role! Ever-loyal Crabbies like Gwen, Fidelis, Wei Hao, Joel, TG showed up in support. 18 Dec: Church. i have now seen the church bunch "The Synthesis" for 8 days in a row. Shattering all previous records. 19 Dec: Morning cycle with Nicole to Changi Airport and back. William shows me his company products. I politely tell him i won't be joining either as distributor or customer. (i've worked in telemarketing, i am now immune to all hard-sell tactics) William and colleagues are shocked at my stubborness and apparent dream to become a history lecturer. SHEESH... ITS POSSIBLE RIGHT? 20 Dec: Cycling with "The Synthesis", then long long walk to Big Splash for canoe rental. Canoeing was fun until i tried the single seater (for the first time in my life, yeah). Damn thing is as unstable as Marilyn Manson. Capsize. Now specs are at the bottom of the sea. I've been marked with my first abrasions since leaving the army. Tailbone area... yeah ok... its near my BUTT. Happy now?! hahahaha! Supper at Swensens. 21 Dec: shoppin for new specs. Move family computers for upgrading. 22 Dec: Drawing, YEC meeting, bring computers back. 23 Dec: Help Mom shift office equipment. Watch William get a promotion. Support our choir in CCIS. Synthesis supper at Billy Bombers. All-Star Burger! Cheese n milkshake galore! Late night movie... we finish at 4.30am, in time to see tml's papers being delivered... once again we have shattered all previous records. _____________________________________________________________________ So how did i get over it? Guess God showed me my life was here, and life must go on. I remembered my prioritites and my joys. We are blessed more than we can imagine. Dec 31 i spent the entire night with the COGS bunch, camping over at church. We can't forget the past, but we sure as hell can ignore it. There's more important things to do. Cheers! *raises wine glass*
